"The Mountaineers’ current senior class will have a 100 percent graduation rate. Sixteen players received their diplomas in December; the other seven will graduate in May.
West Virginia wins, too. This year’s senior class had a career record of 40-12."

100 percent graduation rate > undefeated season
you dont win championships with perfect graduation rates, you win them with perfect seasons.we dont have a championship yet,so its a no-brainer for me.when we win one,i will agree that graduation rates are better than perfect seasons. well....maybe!

Way to represent Stew! I'm proud of the 100% graduation rate--wonder what the Harvard of the East would say about that????

The only thing I can think of, though, is: he is talking about current seniors all 100% graduating.... I would expect at most schools/ teams that if a player is still around to be a senior, chances are they will graduate.... I wonder what the % is of the recruiting classes from 4-5 years ago (that would be SR/ RS Sr this year) graduating?

I swear I saw it earlier last year. I checked the NCAA website, and it lists our overall (school-wide) scholar-athlete grad rate at 68%. Football was lower (much). Only 41% of our total incoming freshman graduate in 4 years in football. The number is 50% for white players, only 29% for black players. Btw, WVU's overall student body graduation rate (within 6 years of the year a student enters freshman class full-time) is only 54-56%.

The University of Michigan has always called Harvard "The UM of the East." This self-puffery of M is yet another tradition that is just one more "Death By A Thousand Cuts" added to RR's ordeal.

So, on the whole student athletes at WVU have a greater chance of actually getting their degree than the general student population at large. wow. I wonder what the % is of the recruiting classes from 4-5 years ago (that would be SR/ RS Sr this year) graduating? I'm pretty sure we have that number, or some version of it.
